Daily Tarot

I love this card. The peaceful scene between the woman and the lion appeals to me.

Just like this woman, we can use our gentler nature to tame our wilder impulses. This doesn’t mean beating our base instincts into submission, this is impossible. Yet we can learn to co-exist with them.

Think of the lion as anger, the woman as patience and perserverance. If we let our anger run wild, it can get us in a lot of trouble. Yet, if we can tame it, channel it, we can use it for the greater good. Anger can be a useful tool if it is controlled and directed. It allows us to stand up for ourselves and others, to fight the wrongs we see in the world.

The message here is not to let your emotions get the better of you. A calm, considered and dignified approach, will have a far greater chance of success in the long run.

Learning to control our base desires and instincts seperates us from the animals and allows us to grow as people, as well as spiritually. Learn to direct your lion, don’t allow it to direct you.
